Inspirational Music Videos

Yellow Card - Ocean Avenue

- This video uses intertextuality by referencing the film Run, Lola, Run. The video does this by the idea that the main character (the lead singer) keeps waking up face down on the pavement surrounded by broken glass, and carries on along the same story line until he dies and has to wake up again.

- A briefcase is used in the video with a symbol of a lamp on it. This briefcase also appears in Yellow Card's "Rough Landing, Holly" as a motif as these videos were both shot by the same director. This symbol is also used in Brand New's video "Sic Transition Gloria... Glory Fades" as both videos were filmed by the same director who uses this as his trademark symbol.

Panic! At The Disco - This Is Gospel

- The video is entirely choreographed, the clear visual movements in time with the beats of the movement are what makes the video successful.

Fall Out Boy - What A Catch, Donnie

- This video uses intertextuality by referencing other music videos from Fall Out Boy. References to other videos:

- At 0:37 the carousel house in the video was used in "America's Suitehearts"

- The deer antlers are from the video for "Sugar, We're Going Down"

- The black and white striped jacket is from "Dance, Dance"

- The FOB sign is from 'Thnks fr th Mmrs"

- The white casket is from "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race"

- There are cameo appearances from Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith from Panic! At The Disco. Brendon and Spencer appear in a few other Fall Out Boy videos, for example "Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown On A Bad Bet" and "A Little Less Sixteen Candles"
